A small guided tour operator on a stretch of the Bay of Fundy that most people drive past on their way somewhere else.
Local Guy Adventures is a guided tour operator within the Cliffs of Fundy UNESCO Global Geopark, along the Bay of Fundy in Nova Scotia. We run boat tours out of Spencers Island, guided hikes to waterfalls and slot canyons, and fat bike tours that ride the sea floor at low water.
This coastline is the home of the Mi'kmaq people and of early settlers. It has the highest recorded tides in the world, cliffs that preserve lava flows from 200 million years ago, and lush vineyards an hour up the road. We think it is the most interesting stretch of shore in the province, and we would rather show you than tell you.
We live in one of the most beautiful places on the Bay of Fundy, and would love to share our favourite places to explore along this coastline with you.
Small groups, built around you
We book small group tours that are customised to your interests and fitness levels. If a five kilometre bike ride sounds like your style, we know just the route — you are going to love it. Oh wait, you meant fifty. Sounds good, no problem, buckle up.
Boat tours run four to eight people. Hikes run two to ten. That is deliberate: it keeps the day flexible, and it means your guide is actually talking to you rather than a crowd.
Who takes you out
Your guide on the water is a working lobster fisherman. The stories about what it is like to fish the highest tides on earth are not researched, they are just what happened last season. On land, our guides are the people who cut and maintain these trails.
