Feel the rush of the tides at the base of Cape Split, where 300-foot basalt cliffs preserve lava flows that erupted 200 million years ago — a landmark most people only ever see from the trail above.

Eight kilometres offshore, Isle Haute rises out of the Bay of Fundy behind 100-metre pillars of basalt. A National Wildlife Area, a seabird and seal sanctuary, and on a foggy day it looks like it is floating.

Our story
Local Guy Adventures is a guided tour operator inside the Cliffs of Fundy Geopark, along a stretch of the Bay of Fundy that most people drive past on their way somewhere else.
This coast is the home of the Mi'kmaq people and of early settlers, it has the highest recorded tides on earth, and there are vineyards an hour up the road. We would love to show you our favourite parts of it.

Flat calm on the crossing this morning. Cape Split never gets old. 
Low water this afternoon meant a whole new beach to ride. 
Isle Haute doing its floating-island thing in the fog. 
Ward Falls running well after the rain. Lunch tasted even better. 
Fire pit weather. Tents are booked most weekends now.
