A fat bike on the rippled sand of the exposed Bay of Fundy sea floor

Ride the ocean floor at low tide

Bike the Fundy Coast

  • Duration 2 hours
  • Distance6 km
  • Group size 2–8
  • Difficulty moderate
  • Season Year round

A guided fat bike loop through old-growth forest trails and out onto the sea floor itself — sculpted rock, tide ripples in the sand, and the Annapolis Valley across the water.

On this looped tour within the Cliffs of Fundy Geopark, we supply the fat bikes, the helmets, the route and your guide. You get the best of both land and sea views on this ride.

Your guide takes you through well-used old-growth forest trails that lead out to the rugged coast, then down onto the ocean floor itself. Glide along the sand and enjoy the scenery. Looking across the bay you will see the Annapolis Valley in the distance. Along the shoreline you will pass sculpted rock formations and ripples left in the sand by the tide as it went out. Then loop back through a different forest trail.

The Bay of Fundy, home to the world’s highest recorded tides, reveals a new landscape on every tide — come explore it with us.
